We’re looking for an experienced, confident accountant who’s not only brilliant using cloud accounting software, but has experience managing a team, ideally remote. The ideal candidate will be naturally outgoing, with the ability to juggle a large portfolio of clients while simultaneously managing a team of bookkeepers and junior accountants. Top-notch management skills and attention to detail are imperative elements of this role.

Key responsibilities:
Management of up to 10 bookkeepers and accountants
Completing and filing of year-end accounts
Bookkeeping checks to final trial balance
Check your team’s work for accuracy and completeness
Provide advice and guidance to your team members
Review and reporting of team’s performance and client satisfaction
VAT checks for accuracy
Payroll/PAYE assistance
CIS
Cashflow forecasting
Self assessments
Preparation of management reports
Workplace pensions
Client relations and retention, including visiting clients when necessary
Adhere to proper accounting standards
Ability to independently identify issues or errors and quickly resolve these
Advise directors of any outstanding issues
Attend and contribute in business development meetings
Requirements:
AAT qualified or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience in practice on multiple client accounts
Management experience
Excellent knowledge of Xero (ideally Xero Certified), Quickbooks, Sage
Ability to work independently and produce incredibly accurate work under tight deadlines
Exceptional written and spoken English
Client focussed
Full UK drivers licence and access to your own vehicle
Salary range: £35,000-£40,000 per annum
